Doing good, on the ice and beyond!

Babson College Men’s Hockey and Babson College Police Department host fundraiser

Corey Griffin lived life to the fullest and had invested in many passions, including ice hockey. He was a member of the Babson Hockey Team and an alumnus of Babson College. So when we heard Officer Kevin Carrigan from the Babson College Police Department and the Babson Hockey Team organized a fundraiser in his honor, the Corey C. Griffin Foundation was very moved.

The Babson Hockey Team and the Babson College Police Department decided to partner to raise money for the Corey C. Griffin Foundation through the sale of sweatshirts to the team. These sweatshirts were inspired by the Community Resource Dog named Roger, who is the big man on campus. According to Carrigan, “The hoodies showcase our department’s community engagement efforts. Roger is a central member of the community and a critical part of all engagement efforts as is heavily involved with all the sports teams.”

Last year the Babson College Police Department made Roger “hoodies” to give out to the student body as prizes. The hockey team came up with the idea to purchase them and donate all proceeds to the Corey C. Griffin Foundation. Officer Kevin Carrigan stated, “The Babson College Police Department, Babson Athletics, and the Babson Men’s Hockey team wanted to make sure we were doing the most with our donation. Collectively we couldn’t think of a more well-deserving foundation than the Corey Griffin Foundation. We are so happy to be part of contributing to Corey’s legacy and the great work his foundation does.”
