The Corey C. Griffin Foundation has been collaborating with the Boston Police Department’s Bureau of Community Engagement and others to provide groceries and essential supplies to Boston families in need throughout the pandemic. The recipients are vetted and identified by the BPD and in most cases the children qualify for school breakfast and lunch programs. Many are existing “Corey’s Kids” families, connected to the schools and programs the Foundation supports.
We are working with programs that throughout the deepest part of the pandemic, delivered meaningful, academic activities at the same time delivering groceries and critical supplies to the parents of these children. Our Operation Masks for Kids campaign granted over 4,000 masks so that children could have the required masks to go to school. Over 2,000 of these were hand-sewn by Foundation volunteers before masks were readily available. We also received a grant from the Department of Health and Human Services which served to stretch the donations from our typical donors and supporters.
With our Board of Directors covering all administration costs, 100% of your donation goes to families in need, providing material support to hundreds of households and meeting the needs of a growing list of families.
The Boston Police Activities League (PAL) facilitated immediate distribution. We are all in this together and together we are resolved to make a difference in our community.
The Boston Police Department are our boots-on-the-ground, delivering timely relief to many families.
