Corey C. Griffin (1986–2014) was a force of love, energy, and purpose. To know Corey was to feel seen, uplifted, and inspired. He made people believe in themselves, and he had an uncanny ability to make you feel like the most important person in the room. His joy, generosity, and warmth left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to have met him.
From an early age, Corey believed in the power of giving back. He didn’t wait for a “perfect time” to help others; he knew the right time was now. Whether he was raising $100,000 for ALS research just days before his passing, supporting Boston Children’s Hospital through Champions for Children’s, or volunteering his time and resources to community events, Corey’s actions reflected a deep-seated commitment to service. His work with the NHL Alumni Pro-Am and the Boston Winter Ball showed his ability to unite people around causes that mattered. Corey didn’t just fundraise — he galvanized entire communities to make a difference.
His impact stretched far beyond his professional accomplishments. As a proud graduate of Thayer Academy, the Taft School, and Babson College, Corey excelled both in the classroom and on the ice as a varsity hockey player. But even as he pursued his entrepreneurial dreams, co-founding RANE and tackling big opportunities in venture capital, Corey’s heart remained with his family, friends, and the children he sought to help through his philanthropic efforts.
At just 27, Corey’s life ended too soon, but his legacy continues to shine through the Corey C. Griffin Foundation. His passion for helping kids reach their full potential lives on in every grant, mentorship, and opportunity the Foundation provides. Corey’s story is a reminder of the extraordinary power of kindness, selflessness, and the belief that every person has the ability to make a difference.
