Monday, September 15th, marked the official unveiling of the new Corey C. Griffin Hall at Lawrence Catholic Academy. The school had already opened for students, faculty, and staff since early September, but this was a day to celebrate the beautiful new building with prominent members of the Lawrence community, students, their families and many members of our Foundation. Numerous people like Father Paul O’Brien who were instrumental in bringing the dream of a new school to life, and we were honored to help contribute vital funds to support the $30 million project. It was an especially proud moment to see our namesake up on the side of the building, which will be an amazing space for generations of kids to learn and grow.

“Corey was dedicated to young people and giving them the tools to succeed. The kids of Lawrence Catholic Academy deserve this. So much hard work, dedication and love went into it and the impact on these kids will be limitless,” noted Chandra Clark, President of The Corey C. Griffin Foundation.

Rob Griffin reflected on one of the defining moments in the organization’s tenure, “It is incredibly humbling to see Corey’s name up there, and the ultimate blessing is knowing that generations of kids will now come through those doors and experience the rewards of a Lawrence Catholic Academy education.”
Visitors were treated to an opening prayer by former New England Patriot and current CCGF Board Member, Mathew Slater, as well as some poignant (and witty) remarks by master of ceremonies Father Paul O’Brien.
For the Academy, which serves an underprivileged population, the new building will allow the school to expand its early childhood education program and provide enhanced resources for STEM, the arts, and athletics. Corey C. Griffin Hall is part of a broader project that includes a second phase to construct a recreation center featuring a full gymnasium and auditorium. Lawrence Catholic Academy serves more than 475 students from Pre-K through Grade 8.
