Corey C. Griffin Foundation and Achieve Celebrate an Impactful Partnership

On Saturday, October 4th, the Corey C. Griffin Foundation joined a celebration honoring the impactful partnership between CCGF and The Achieve Program at Noble and Greenough School.

Achieve is a tuition-free academic initiative at Noble and Greenough School that provides critical academic and personal support for middle school students from underserved communities in Boston. Achieve serves students from Boston’s public, charter, and parochial schools, most of whom come from low-income families. The program is dedicated to providing these young people with the resources and guidance necessary to overcome educational barriers and achieve their goals.

Achieve’s hallmark program is its six-week summer program, but the organization is committed to a holistic approach with ongoing support throughout the school year. The Corey C. Griffin Foundation has been instrumental in making this year-round support possible, particularly through its backing of the “Saturday Program”. These sessions 1-2 times per month provide vital academic reinforcement and enrichment opportunities, helping students stay engaged and continue their progress throughout the school year. In addition to funding for materials as well as transportation for the students to get from Boston to Nobles, the Foundation also helps fund the extracurricular activities which give students access to experiences beyond the classroom, such as guest speakers and hands-on workshops

CCGF Founder, Cathy Griffin noted Achieve is a partnership that makes her especially proud, “Nobles is a special place for our family. Corey’s brother, Michael, and his sister, Casey, both had amazing experiences here. It’s incredibly gratifying to now play our part in providing kids from Boston the opportunity to come to this beautiful campus and benefit from the impactful programming Reginald and his Achieve team provide. It was so clear in hearing directly from the student speakers today that these kids feel loved and supported. Their passion and joy was palpable.”

Achieve also provides students Individualized Mentorship through one-on-one advising that guides students through challenges and helps with the high school application process. And they then High School Placement Support with Achieve students applying to competitive independent, charter, and exam schools.

Some of the key outcomes of the CCGF and Achieve partnership include:

  • 100% of Achieve students are accepted into competitive college-preparatory high schools.
  • 99% of Achieve alumni graduate from high school on time.
  • 86% of Achieve alumni enroll in college after high school.
  • Over 90% of Achieve students will be the first in their families to attend college.

Achieve Executive Director, Reginald Toussaint, noted the success and the influence of our partnership, “Our results are tangible. They highlight the transformative impact of Achieve’s programming. We know the combination of rigorous academic preparation and strong mentorship ensures students are not only ready for high school but also for the challenges of higher education and life beyond the classroom. And none of this would be possible without the unwavering support of the Corey C. Griffin Foundation. We are all proud of the difference we are making in these kids’ lives.”
