Perhaps no event epitomizes the love, energy and connection of the Corey C. Griffin Foundation like CoreyFest. It was our first event, held just 2 months after Corey’s tragic passing in 2014. It brings together family, friends and supporters to enjoy the music of a popular country artist while supporting the foundation’s commitment to Be a Force of Love for under-resourced kids in Massachusetts.
This year’s event, which is sold out, will feature headliner Dustin Lynch. We have already raised over $2.1 million and expect over 1,700 guests at The Citizens House of Blues in Boston on November 1st. A key highlight of the 2025 edition will be a donation of $275,000 the foundation is making to underpaid educators from The Ron Burton Training Village, Lawrence Catholic Academy in Lawrence, Saint John Paul II Catholic Academies in Dorchester and Trinity Catholic Academy in Brockton.

The teacher support is part of the Corey’s Scholars Program, which is a transformative initiative designed to uplift extraordinary and often-overlooked Boston-area students of color. It takes a holistic approach, combining financial grants with one-on-one mentoring to support kids on their journey through high school, postsecondary education, and into the workforce. Gap funding for underpaid teachers and educators is an equally important element of the effort.
Lisa Warshafsky, the principal of the St. John Paul II Catholic Academy Lower Mills campus noted how important the support is: “Our partnership with the Corey C. Griffin Foundation has been so meaningful. Their support of our kids has changed lives, but the foundation also recognizes that teachers are such a key driver in the process too. They continue to provide the support our teachers need too and that matters. They’re a hands-on partner and one that takes a holistic approach to issues which means the resulting impact is more powerful.”

CoreyFest is just one of the events that supports our work to ensure the health, safety, education, and success of Massachusetts youths from pre-K to adulthood. The efforts serve over 10,000 kids annually through initiatives and 11 partnerships with organizations like The Ron Burton Training Village, Boston Children’s Hospital and its newest partner The Children’s Advocacy Center of Suffolk County.
